  • Inpatient and outpatient services for adults and adolescents over 16, including an adult partial hospital program, ECT therapy, and neuropsychological assessment.
  • Child psychiatry services, which include an adolescent partial hospital program, inpatient, neuropsychological assessment, and outpatient therapy and family support.
  • A dedicated psychiatry program for older adults.

We work closely with Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

General Overview

We are seeking a Full Time (40-hour) Nurse Practitioner Lead for our Adult Inpatient Program, which provides comprehensive psychiatric services for adult patients ages 16 and older (60 beds). This NP will be working primarily in the emergency department and doing occasional psych consults on the medical floors. The desired schedule is Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Inpatient services for adult patients are provided on two dedicated floors in the Epstein Center for Behavioral Health located at 1 Dove Avenue in Salem, MA.

The NP Lead will perform additional leadership duties on the team/department through indirect management of other Advanced Practice Providers. Other responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in staffing/scheduling as needed
  • Involvement in daily clinical problem solving, on-boarding, metric tracking
  • Providing input on appraisals, staff development, discipline and hire/fire decisions

Qualifications

The Nurse Practitioner Lead will work side-by-side with experienced board-certified psychiatrists; this will allow for both easily accessible supervision as well as a team-based approach to clinical care.

  • Education: Advanced Practice Nursing Degree from an accredited school with specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing required
  • Licensure: Current Massachusetts State License as a Registered Nurse Practitioner required
  • Experience: 4-6 years of NP experience required - preferably in Psychiatry
